All you Need is One: Chapter Fifteen

What would life be if we had no courage to attempt anything? – Vincent van Gogh

Aseel

“I’m so sorry baby. I really need to go home.” Sarah said. “I’ll go with you.” I said. “You can’t you have to stay with Tariq.” Sarah reasoned with me. “But…” I began. “No buts it’s been three days already, I really need to go take care of things in the house… by myself.” She said.
The fact that she’s leaving my side made me very sad. She held my chin. “Hey…” she said. I met her gaze. “…I’ll be back soon.” She said and kissed me. I couldn’t help but to smile. “That’s my girl. Love you.” she said. “I love you too.” I replied.
As she left I went to the living room and sat with Tariq. “Where did granny said she was going?” I asked. “Hmm… she said she’s going to the supermarket.” He replied. “Why didn’t she tell me? I could’ve gone there instead.” I commented.
“Sarah was here…” he said. “Oh…” I said. He played a movie for us to watch. As we were watching I received a text message.
‘Hey babe,
I’m sorry I can’t make it back tonight.
I’ll be back tomorrow.

-Sarah’
That message got me in a bad mood so I went to bed.

Sienna

Three days have passed and I’m still hiding in her room.  Tariq is supposed to be back today, I want to see him. I need to see him… ‘Is your mom going anywhere today?’ I wrote, asking Razan as we were watching a movie.
“Yeah, she said she’ll be going out soon.” Razan said. ‘Razz, May I ask you a favor?’ I wrote. She nodded. ‘Can we go to the airport tonight to see Tariq?’ I wrote. “Sure thing, want us to leave now?” she said. I nodded and we left to the airport.

Waleed

It’s amazing how the EP release went. It’s been getting a lot of good reviews. I can’t wait to tell Tariq and Sienna about it. People are starting to ask us for an album. I never thought it would be that successful.
“Dustin I want to go meet Tariq at the airport. Want to come with?” I said. “Ron is going there with his Friend, why don’t you go with him.” Dustin said. “Cool. Ron I’m coming with.” I said as I got ready to go.

Razan

I hope Tariq would help Sienna. She really needs him right now. At airport I saw Ron there with Waleed. Sienna didn’t seem to notice them. “Sie, Waleed and Ron are here.” I said. She smiled. Somehow I think she misses Waleed.
We went up to them to say hi. “Sienna!! Where the hell were you?!” Waleed asked. “She was with me.” I said. He looked at me then back at her. “Didn’t you get my message?” he asked her.  She was about to write him but I stopped her.
“Her phone isn’t with her. So no she did not read get your message.” I answered. “So what is it Ms. Razan, are you her official speaker now?”  He complained. “Yes, you got a problem with that?” I said. “You two calm down, Sienna said.” Ron said.
Waleed looked at her in shock. “I’m sorry.” I apologized to Sienna. ‘Don’t be’ she mouthed. Waleed tried to hug Sienna but she stepped back. ‘It’s better this way.’ She wrote. “Sienna may I talk to you for a minute?” Ron asked.
‘And leave them alone?’ she wrote. “It will only take a minute.” Ron insisted. ‘Pete, Don’t bother Razz.’ She wrote. Waleed rolled his eyes as Sienna went with Ron.

Sienna

I had no idea what Ron wanted. I just followed along. “This might actually bother you, and I’m sorry that you lost your voice. He needs to speak with you.” He said then he looked at me waiting for me to write something but I didn’t.
“We’re here.” he said. I saw a familiar face. I just sat there. “Thank you for coming Sienna.” Feras said. I smiled. “I’m sorry for what I did.” He said. I moved my hand giving him a sign to go on. “I wanted Razan all to myself and I still do. You were the only person that she speaks of. I was jealous… at first I wanted her to know how it feels to be second best. Though when you called me… I saw an opportunity to make her mine only.” He said.
‘Why are you telling me all of this now?’ I wrote. “I love her still.” He said. I rolled my eyes. ‘If you really love her, you would have protected her from such feeling and you wouldn’t have lied.’ I wrote. “Sienna please I can’t live without her.” his eyes began to tear.
‘Give her a reason to trust you again.’ I wrote. “Thank you.” He said. ‘Don’t.’ I wrote. I went back to Razan and Waleed. I hugged Razan. “Sie, the flight arrived.” She said. I’m so happy that I get to see him now.

Aseel

I heard a whimper as I was deep in my sleep. “Aseel wake up!!” a faded voice was calling for me. The whimper grew to cries as I opened my eyes. It was Tariq. “What’s wrong?! Why are you crying?” I asked. “Grandma!” he said.
I jumped off of bed. “Where is grandma?!” I asked. He sat on my bed. “Grandma’s gone.” He cried. “What do you mean she’s gone?! I’ll call the cops to look for her.” I said. He jumped of off bed and stopped me.
“The hospital called.” He said. I fell to the floor. I couldn’t feel my legs. “Why do they always leave?” he asked. I hugged him tight. I have no idea how to answer or how to protect him from this feeling. I forgot to think about myself. My heart was breaking.
I couldn’t stop myself from crying.  She was all that we got left and now she’s gone. Tariq needs a role model in his life someone to look up to. What will happen to us now? How will we live? Tariq cried himself to sleep in my arms.
I was crying without a sound. I couldn’t sleep that night. I was wishing that she would call my name again. I was wishing to see her again. I can’t understand how this happened. I should’ve gone to the super market instead of her.
She would still be here, wouldn’t she?

Razan

Tariq hugged Sienna tight. “How come you’re here?” He asked. “She came here to see you.” I answered. “Little sis, you okay?” He asked. Sienna was shivering. “She’s just happy to see you.” I answered.
“She’s shivering like crazy.” He said. “She misses you.” I answered. “Why is she alone with you?!” he asked. “I kidnapped her.” I said. “Good, you made up.” He said. I nodded. “Didn’t your family tell you she was missing?” I asked.
“No, they just asked me not to speak with her.” he said then looked at Sienna. “Which I’m clearly not doing.” he completed. “Sie, can we go home now?” I asked. She nodded.  “Wait wait, what do you mean she’s going home with you? Her older brother is here.” he said.
“Sir Second knight, I need my First knight.” I said as I cling on to Sienna. “Sienna, will you come with me?” he looked at her.  She was trying so hard to speak the word this time. “N…n….No!!” she spoke. Then she ran away. I ran after her.
She suddenly stopped and turned around. I stopped too. She walked slowly toward me. “I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to run away from you.” she said. “I know.” I assured her.  “Can we go to your place?” she asked. I nodded.
As we were leaving the airport I saw Ron again. Standing next to him wasn’t Waleed… it was Feras. “Sie…” I choked the word. She looked and saw him. She sighed.  Feras was walking toward us. “Razanii…” he said.
I froze at the spot. “… I’m so sorry for all the pain I’ve caused you.” he said. I met his gaze. “I’m a foolish man for what I’ve done. You deserve better than me.” He said. My eyes got teary. “I love you more than you can imagine.” He said.
“I can’t live without you Razan, I was selfish for lying. I can’t ask of you to forgive me. I just need one more chance. I’ll try my best to make it right.” He said. “Can you come here for a second?” I said as I pointed with my finger for him to bend down.
“I forgive you.” I whispered in his ears. He was shocked. The look on his face was priceless. He lifted me up. I was about to push him away when I found myself in Sienna’s arms. “You’re going too far bro.” She said. “She’s my girlfriend.” He complained.
“Ex, she isn’t yours yet. So behave yourself.” She defended me. He rolled his eyes at Sienna. “I’ll call you later Razanii.” He said as he left with Ron.  “Thank you.” I told Sienna. “No need that just my duty princess.” She said.
When we arrived at my place, Sienna hesitated to come in. “What’s the matter Sie?!” I asked. “I want to thank you for taking me into your home.” she said. “No problem.” I replied. I opened the door. “After you princess.” She said as we entered the house.

Farah

The weather was pretty nice today, so I sat outside and was on the phone with Waleed. “Tariq Hamad came back to the country today.” Waleed said. “Cool, did Sienna see him?” I asked. “Yeah, I saw her at the airport but she wouldn’t go home with him.” He said.
“Why wouldn’t she?!” I asked. “I have no idea. She was with Razan and she refused to leave her side.” He answered. “Oh, they’re back together.” I commented. “They’re the same as they’ve always been.” He said.
“Oh…” I answered. “Enough about them, how are things going on in your house?” he asked. “Better than they used to be.” I answered. “I can’t wait to graduate!” he commented suddenly. “Why is that?” I asked. “To make you my wife.” He replied.
I was caught off guard.  I hung up the phone.

Aseel

I wonder what time it is. The door bell rang. I was lifelessly walking toward the entrance . I opened the door and it was Sarah. It was still dark outside. “I thought you weren’t coming.” I said. “Are you okay?! I’ve been texting and calling you… you didn’t answer.” she asked.
“Oh, you were?” I replied. “What the hell have gotten into you?!” She demanded.  I went inside the house. She followed me and turned on the lights. “Have you been crying? You look horrible.” She said. “Yes.” I answered.
“What the hell Seel? I told that I’ll be back.” She argued. “I wasn’t crying because of you…” I said. “What… happened?” she softly said. “Grandma’s gone.” I said, as my tears started falling again. The fact is still sinking in.
Part of me can’t accept yet. Sarah come close to me and hugged me tight. Rather than picking up the pieces my heart shattered into million pieces. It is real, she’s not coming back. I cried my heart out lost in her embrace.
Next thing I know I was in my bed Sienna, Razan, Tariq, Ron and Gavin were there. Sarah still had her arms wrapped around me. They all said their condolence as they sat around me. “Where is Tariq?” I asked.
“He’s sleeping in the other room.” She whispered in my ear. Soon they all left. It was only me and Sarah. “What are we going to do now?!” Sarah asked. “What do you mean?” I got confused. “Your only 16… you can’t live here on your own and if the law finds out… you’ll be forced to live with your mom or dad and probably separated from Tariq.” She explained.
I’m not ready to think about things like that I still can’t believe she’s gone. “What do you think we should do?” I asked since I wasn’t able to think. “How about you and Tariq move in with me?” She suggested. “Sure.” I agreed.
“But we need to speak with one of your parents first.” She said. “I know where dad is.” I replied. “Then we’ll go meet him.” She said. I nodded. She kissed me down my neck. “We’ll always be together.” She said.
The next day we went to my dad’s place. He got remarried and has other kids. I had cold feet at first. Sarah held my hand. “We’re in this together don’t worry.” She assured me. I rang the door bell. A maid opened the door.
“May I speak with Mr. Saqer?” I said. “Wait.” The maid said. We waited for a while till he came by the door. “Aseel…” he said. “Have you heard about grandma?” I asked. “Yah Tariq called and said she passed away.” He said.
Sarah squeezed my hand trying to tell me to be strong, though I couldn’t talk no more. “Mr. Saqer, due to the circumstance I offered you beloved daughter and son to live with me. I’m an only child, big house, and parent away.” She said.
“Okay they can live with you.” he said. “Thanks father.” I said. “Whatever.” He replied. We went back to the car. Sarah opened the door for me. “See everything went smoothly, now where is my kiss?” she said. I stretched my legs to reach her lips as I kissed her tenderly.
I didn’t notice that my dad was still standing by the door. As I was about to enter the car something pulled me out. “Seriously?! A girlfriend.” He yelled. “Mr.…” Sarah began to say when he interrupted her. “Don’t you dare mention my name.” he yelled.
“Tariq, Aseel get you inside the house and as for you… you’ll leave and never come back here again.” He yelled. I went inside the house. He got inside few seconds after me. He slapped me. Give me your phone. “No.” I said.
He was about to slap me again but I stopped him. “Do not act like a caring father now.” I commented. I ran to the window Sarah’s car was still parking out front. I received a text from Sarah.
‘I’m sorry…

-Sarah’
The car went away. I threw my phone under my dad’s feet. “I will never forgive you for this.” I said. “Who was that? The girl that just left?” one of his daughters asked. “That was my girlfriend.” I said. I heard a crushing sound.
I looked behind me and father has stepped my phone.

Sienna

As I was sitting in Razan’s bedroom I heard Tariq’s voice entering Razan’s place. I went to the living room. “Tariq…” I said. He was holding the bass guitar he got for me and Razan was standing next to him. “Surprise.” They said.
“How did you get a hold of that?” I asked. “I found it” he said. “Why didn’t Jassem come with you?” I asked. “GYM.” He said. “Tell him I miss him.” I said. “Will do.” He replied. “May I?” I pointed at the bass. “Sure.” he said as he handed it to me.
I sat on the couch feeling the stings when the door bell rang. Tariq went to open the door. “Sarah?” he said. “I need to talk to Sienna.” She said. He let her in. “May I talk to you in privet?” she asked. I nodded.
We went to Razan’s Room. “I’m leaving the country.” Sarah said. “What are you saying? What about Aseel?” I asked. “Her dad took her away.” She said as her tears started falling. “She was the only reason I stayed… I can’t stay her any longer.” She was panicking.
“Calm down.” I tried to comfort her. “I can’t, I should’ve left when I could.” She said. “What does that even mean?!” I asked. “It means I was supposed to leave the country long ago but I stayed here for her.” she explained. “When was that?” I asked.
“It was the same day she told me that she’s transferring to another school.” She said. “Oh before I met her.” I commented. “Yes. I only stayed because she said she wasn’t going to leave me.”  She said as she was crying.
I hugged her. “Doesn’t she have her cell with her?” I asked. “I can’t call and cause her trouble. Her father forbids me to ever see her again.” She said. “Can’t we ask little Tariq for help?” I asked. “Useless he doesn’t have a cell.” She said.
“Sienna please, I need to see her one last time before I leave. Dad just booked me a flight tonight.” She said. “Okay.” I said. I called Aseel but her phone was off. When we left Razan’s bedroom, Feras was in the living room just great.
“Sarah can you keep an eye on those two… till I bring you Aseel?” I whispered in Sarah’s ear. I went to stand next to Razan. “Hime-sama, is there anything you need before I leave?” I asked. “Where are you going?” she asked.
“I’m going to bring Aseel.” I said. “Oh! Okay.” She said. “Let’s go Tariq.” I said as we left the place.

Aseel

I kept wondering why she didn’t fight for me. I tried to put my phone together. No luck, it was smashed pretty bad. The door bell rang, I looked out the window and it was Tariq. What is he doing here? I wondered.
I ran to the door. “What are you doing here?” I asked. Sienna was standing next to him. I didn’t see her from outside the window. “I just missed little Tariq.” Tariq answered me. “He’s busy unpacking.” I said. “Oh! Well come with us.” Tariq said.
“Why should I?” I argued. “Sarah needs to see you.” Sienna said. My heart ached. “But…” I began to say When Tariq carried me to the car. “Let go…” I said. “No, and no buts either.” Sienna said as we were inside the car.
We were outside Razan’s place. “I’m not going in.” I complained. Sienna went inside the house. Someone was trying to open the back door when I looked up again. It was Sarah. When she got into the back seat Tariq stepped out of the car.
“I’m sorry.” She said. “Why?” I asked. “I’m sorry, that I’ve put you through this. I’m sorry that I miss lead you… to make you think that we can be more than we were.” she said. I kissed her violently. “Don’t… I forgive you.” I said. “I can’t forgive myself. You deserve much better than me.” She said.
“No, all I need is you.”  I said. “I’m leaving the county in few hours.” She said. “You’re kidding right?” I said. She should me the ticket. “You promised not to look for me. You deserve to know that I’m leaving.” she said. “Sarz, don’t leave me, please.” I begged. My tears started falling.
“I can’t dad want me back. You’ll find someone better than me.” She said. “I don’t want anyone else but you.” I said. “I don’t want to be with you anymore… Goodbye.” She said as she stepped out of the car. I lost her too. I kept crying in the back seat of Tariq’s car.

Sienna

“Would please tell me, what is he doing here?” I asked. “I want to make things right.” He said. “Is that so?” I argued. “He’s trying to make an effort here.” Razan said. “Like?” I asked. “He just told me what you said to him that night exactly.” She said.
She came closer to me and kissed my check. “You’re the best knight ever, Sie.” She whispered. “I also told her how jealous I am still of you…” he said. “Seriously, what’s the deal with this guy?” I complained. “Don’t blame him. you receive more kisses than he does.”  She said.
My face went red… Unbelievable. “Excuse me.” I said and I went outside. As I was standing outside, Sarah left Tariq’s car with tears in her eyes. I stopped her before she entered her car. “Sarah what’s wrong?” I asked.
“I’ve hurt her, she’s crying.” Sarah said. “Why did you do that?!” I was confused. “I can’t live with the hope that she might come back to me someday, it will kill me.” She said. I hugged Sarah.  “She deserves better than me…” she said. “Don’t speak like that.” I said.
“Go comfort her, Goodbye.” She said as she got and the car and left. I turned around and Tariq was sitting in the car and Aseel’s laid her head on his lap. I went back inside the house. Feras was kissing Razan’s cheek. “Goodbye.” He said.

All You Need is One: Chapter Fourteen

Friendship, like the immortality of the soul, is too good to be believed. -Ralph Waldo Emerson.

Sienna

“Sie… come on.” Tariq said. “Tariq I’m coming.” I said. I was cleaning up my room. He left and went to his room. I followed him there after I was done cleaning. “Where is your bag?” I asked. He pointed at the bag on the floor.
“For how long will you be staying there?” I asked. “Three days max.” he said. So I started packing his bags. “Holy Sh...” Tariq suddenly said as I was packing his bags. “What’s the matter?” I asked. “Look at this!!” he said pointing at his computer screen.
Someone uploaded a video of our talent show performance on YouTube. “This is bad.” I commented. “This is great check out the viewers and the like’s rate.” He said. “We’re almost famous.” I commented. He nodded.
When I finished packing his bags, “Thanks Sie” He kissed my cheek. “Do you want me to get you anything from there?” he asked. I shook my head. “Just take care of yourself.” I said. He went out and I went back to my room.
I lay back in my bed since it was still early. I closed my eyes and was deep into sleep. A sudden scream startled me. I jumped out of bed. “Sienna oo yahad.” My dad yelled. He burst into my room. He grabbed me from my cloths and slapped me.
“Ma 3ndi banat t3zif mosega fahma.” He yelled. Mom was standing behind him. “Hamad eshway eshway 3alaiha.” Mom defended. “Hadeel la tkalmeni… wain elzft hatha?” he said looking around my room.
He laid his eyes on my bass guitar. He pushed me back to my bed, grabbed the bass and left my room. I wanted to stop him. I wanted to scream. I opened my mouth but my voice won’t come out. “bentich hathy ma t6la3 men elbait, fahma?” He told mom.
“eyany oo eyach alga refejat-ha 3ndaha, oo ma7ad eb hal bait ekalmha, oo 5thay telfonha.” He said as he was standing outside my bedroom door. Mom nodded. She came back to my room and I handed her my phone.
This is the first time I’ve ever been grounded in my life and for a reason I can’t convey. I lay back in bed hoping to wake up from this nightmare.

Aseel

That night was the most amazing night of my life. I believe that my life is perfect like that. As I was asleep I felt Sarah’s lips on my cheek. I can barely open my eyes. “Thank you for everything. I’m sorry, Goodbye.” She whispered in my ear.
My eyes got teary I want to tell her to stay but my lips won’t move. I started crying. I can’t get myself out of bed. The bedroom door closed. I can only hear myself crying. “Don’t go… don’t go.” I murmured.
“Babe, wake up.” It’s Sarah’s voice. I felt her hand on my cheek. I opened my eye. I was crying and Sarah was there. I hugged her tight and kept crying in her arms. “Seel chill, it’s just a dream.” She said.
“Don’t ever leave me.” I said. “I won’t, you’ll have to get rid of me.” She said. I can’t hold back my tears. I felt so embarrassed. “Beauty, look at me.” She said. I hid my face in her chest. She kissed my forehead. “I’m not going anywhere.” She assured me again.

Razan

I walked lifelessly to my room, sat on my bed and dialed her number. ‘The phone has been switched off.’ I called Farah. “Hello.” Farah answered. “Farah what did Sienna tell you about me and Feras?” I demanded.
“What do you mean?” She was confused. “When she asked you why aren’t you speaking with her… you mentioned that before didn’t you?” I asked. “Oh! She said something like she was just trying to protect you or something like that.” She answered.
I closed the line and lay on my bed. I was wondering what I should do about it. I must see her. I must speak with her. Feras is such a jerk for what he did. My tears started falling. I got out of bed. I went to Sienna’s place.

Sienna

I opened my eyes it was around 4 pm. I got out of my room to an empty house. Where did everyone go? I wondered. I sat in the living room tried to turn on the TV. It didn’t work. I tried to turn on the lights. It did work either.
Then I remembered two things. First, today was the usual family gathering at my grandparents’ house. Second, I was grounded. I went back to my room I had a small radio that works on batteries.
I turned the radio on and flipped through the radio stations then I heard perfect by simple plan. So punk rock and exactly what I need. Then they played ‘Boulevard Of Broken Dreams by Green Day’ I think that radio station was feeling me.
Suddenly, I heard the door down stairs open then I heard a faded whimper. I ran downstairs, and then I stop at the top of the staircase. Razan was standing at the end of the staircase. She had her hand on her face cover her tears. My heart ached, as I smiled.
She looked up and met my gaze. I walked slowly down the stairs. Even if this were to be a nightmare I don’t want to wake up. I was in front of her now. I wrapped my arms around her. “Sie.” She sniffed.
I tried to speak but my voice still won’t come out. I put her hand on my cheek. She’s still crying. I can’t stop her tears. I wrote on her hand with my finger ‘All is forgiven.’ She cried harder. I held her tighter. I’m not sure for how long we sat like that.

Razan

I was outside her house. I entered from the back door then entered from the front. I should’ve knocked the door, but I feared that she might not let me in. I was crying still. I stood down the staircase whipping my tears as I was getting ready to face her.
I looked up and she was standing at the top of the staircase. She wore this broken yet gentle smile as I met her gaze. She slowly talked toward me. I didn’t know how she will react. My tears won’t stop falling still as I felt her arms around me, whole.
“Sie.” I sniffed. If this is a dream I don’t need to wake up again. She put my hand on her cheek assuring me that she’s here. I don’t deserve her kindness. She wrote on my hand with her finger ‘all is forgiven’. Wait, I didn’t apologize. I cried harder. She held me tighter.
I wonder why she didn’t speak. I fell asleep in her arms again.

Sienna

I carried Razan to my room. I tucked her in my bed and sat on the floor next to it. I searched for a pen and paper. I needed to explain things to Razan. I found a small note and a pen. I started writing. First note ‘Hey Razz, sorry that I haven’t said a word. I’ve lost my voice.’
Second note ‘I don’t understand how myself but...’ Third note ‘There is something you should know.’ Forth note ‘you must leave before my family is back’ Fifth note ‘I’m grounded. I can’t see nor speak with any of my friends.’
I sat the note and pen next to me and waited for her to wake up.

Razan

I opened my eyes to find myself in her bed. I only wanted to sleep in her arms… I though. I turned and found her sitting on the floor like she used to. I wrapped my arms around her neck. “Sie…” I whispered in her ears.
She kissed my hand and pointed at her lap. I got off of bed and sat in her lap. She had a note and a pen in her hand. She showed me the note. ‘Hey Razz, sorry that I haven’t said a word. I’ve lost my voice.’ I sighed.
“Don’t apologize for something like that. How did you lose it?” I asked. She flipped the page. ‘I don’t understand how myself but…’ “But what?” I said as I flipped the page. ‘There is something you should know.’ I got worried. She wrapped her arm around me.
‘You must leave…’ she doesn’t want me here. My eyes got teary. She covered that part ‘… before my family is back’ I turned to look at her “Why?” I was confused. She flipped the note. ‘I’m grounded. I can’t see nor speak with any of my friends.’
“You can’t speak anyways.” I commented as I kissed her cheek. “I don’t want to leave though…” I whispered. She wrote ‘I don’t want you to leave either.’ “Your hand writing still sucks btw.” I said. She mouthed ‘Pardon me.’
“Does being grounded include not going out?” I asked. She nodded. I sighed.

Sienna

“I have this crazy idea…” Razan said. I smiled. I had a feeling that her crazy idea would put me in more trouble than I am in. “Come with me.” She said. I took the pen and wrote ‘I’m not supposed to leave the house.’
“Yeah well, there is no one in the house.” She said. I nodded. “Come with me.” She said as she stood up. I held her hand and we went out the house. I know that I’m not supposed to do this.
There was this part of me that longed to runaway. I don’t know if it was just the thrill of doing wrong or the fact that there is nothing left for me in that house. I just want to leave with her and become her knight again.
While we were in the car I wrote for Razan. ‘Don’t tell your mom about it… let me talk to her myself.’ She looked at the note then put her hand on my cheek. “Mom isn’t home, and she doesn’t need to know your there.” She said.
I hugged her. I never thought that she would actually think it through. I thought that she was being irrational. I used her cell phone to contact Aseel. I told her that I don’t have my phone nor am I at home and that she can contact me though Razan’s cell.
I’ve never felt so fragile in my life. I still can’t believe that I’ve lost my voice. It’s true that I don’t feel the need to speak though I really need it for singing. Razan locked her bedroom door as we entered her room.
‘Wait don’t you want something to eat?’ I wrote. “You’re going to make me food?” She asked. ‘Yes princess. I may have lost my voice but I can still cook.’ I wrote. “Pasta.” She smiled. I went to the kitchen and made her pasta.
As I put the pasta on the counter she was ready to dig in. I stopped her and held the fork from her hand. I started feeding her. “It’s just like old times.” She commented. Her eyes got teary. I kissed her cheek. ‘Shush… Things never changed between us.’ I wrote.
“I’ve missed you so much.” She said. ‘I missed you too.’ I wrote. I fed her the rest of the pasta then went to bed. She did lock her bed room door. I didn’t change my cloth. I just lay in bed next to her.

Waleed

Tonight we’re playing a gig for the EP release. Farah hasn’t spoken with me since the other day. I wonder if I was taking things too fast. I decided to text her. So I’ve text her:
‘Good Morning Dear,
How are you today?
Sorry about last night. I didn’t mean to rush things :s.

-Waleed’
I hoped that she would reply soon. I remembered that I haven’t spoke with Sienna either. So I wrote her a text:

‘Morning Sie,
How are you today?
I just wanted to congratulate you on winning the talent show yesterday.
You deserve the best! Don’t ever lose faith in your talent.

-Patrick’

I received a message from Farah:
‘Good morning to you too,
I’m good, how are you?
You don’t have to apologize… it was sudden that’s all :$.

-Farah’

I text her back:
‘Hope always baby ;*
I’m great now that I heard from you.
Does that mean its okay to like kiss u again?

-Waleed’

This time it took her a while to answer:
‘Maybe >////<

-Farah.’
That girl is so adorable. I text back:
‘You’re so adorable ;***

-Waleed’

It’s a shame that Farah can’t come to the gig. I really want to see her again. I was also surprised that Sienna didn’t reply back yet. Did I do something wrong? I wonder.

Farah

I want to see him again. I can’t talk to him on the phone now since I share a room with my sisters. With all the drama in my life, the problem between Razan and Sienna, Waleed seems like the only person who actually care about me.
I hope that Waleed’s gig goes well.

All You Need is One: Chapter Thirteen

There is no privacy that can’t be penetrated, no secret can be kept in a civilized world, Society is a masquerade ball where everybody hides his real character then revels it by hiding. -Ralph Waldo Emerson

Razan

I can’t understand her. Why is she still treating me like old times after all I did to her? I thought as I was walking down the hall. A girl hit me by mistake as she was running. I lost my balance I was about to fall on the floor.
She caught me. My books fell on the floor. “’Anata wa daijōbudesu ka? (JP)’ Are you okay?” She asked. I nodded. I had this urge to hug her then I remembered that things aren’t like they used to be.
The talk I had with Tariq came to mind. Why would someone who betrayed me still act that nice toward me? “Sienna, why are you helping me? After all what happened.” I demanded. "Because I’m your knight, remember?" She answered.
She picked up my books and gave them to me, and then she walked away. After school Feras picked me up. “Razanii, what do you have tomorrow?” He asked. “Nothing, are you taking me on a date?” I asked.
“Well, let’s just say that I got two tickets to attend a talent show!” He said as he showed me the tickets. “Awesome, who’s playing?” I asked. “A new band called unspoken words.” He explained. “I’m sure it will be great!” I said.

Sienna

“Sarah how many songs will we play tomorrow?” I asked. We were sitting in the studio. “We’ll play two songs.” Sarah answered. Aseel whispered something in Sarah’s ear. “Sienna, Ron says that Razan and Feras will be coming.” Sarah said.
I grinned. “That will make it easier to choose the songs.” I said. Tariq left the studio. “Now seriously Sie, are you in love with that girl?” Aseel asked. “Yeah, seriously just between us.” Sarah backed her up.
“No, I’m not.” I rolled my eyes. “I saw what you did today.” Aseel raised her eye brow. “Are you stalking me?” I demanded. Sarah looked at Aseel. “What did she do?” Sarah asked. “She was like a true knight she caught the princess before she fell on the floor.” Aseel answered.
“She didn’t.” Sarah was shocked. “Excuse me I’m right here.” I said. “Sie saved the day.” Aseel shrugged. “Wasn’t it hot?” Sarah asked. “It was I was almost turned on.” Aseel answered. I put my hand on both their mouths. “To your instruments…” I demanded.
Tariq entered the studio. We all looked at him. “I’m not even going to ask.” He said. Sarah and Aseel started laughing. “Sie, did you decide on the two songs?” Tariq asked. “Yeah, Believe and Right Here by Staind.” I said.
“I didn’t take you for the alternative type, Sie.” Tariq commented. “Isn’t it obvious Tariq?” Aseel began. “She’s doing it for Razan.” Sarah finished. Tariq laughed. I can’t remember, since when was it that easy to see right through me?
“Do you not like the songs?” I asked. They all looked at me. “I do like them.” Tariq answered. “Then we’re playing them.” I insisted. We practiced the songs all night, till they were perfected.

Farah

“Get your cloths we’re leaving.” Mom said. “Are we leaving him for good?” I asked. Mom nodded. “Why now?” I asked. “Farah Just get your cloths and help your siblings with theirs.” She shrugged.
We got our cloths and we were out of that house for good. When we got to granny’s place I had an incoming call. I picked it up. “Hey you.” He said. “Hey Pete.” I answered. “How are you doing sweetie?” he asked.
“I’m doing well, what about you?” I said. “I’m great, now that I heard your voice.” He said. I blushed and softly giggled. “What you doing?” he asked. “We’re moving to grandma’s place. Mom and Dad are splitting up.” I explained.
“Sorry to hear that.” He said. “Don’t be, it’s for the best.” I commented. “You really think so?” he asked. “I know so.” I replied. “Farah, we’re friends now right?” He asked. I don’t know why but when he called us friend it felt wrong.
“Sure.” I answered unwillingly. “There is something that I wanted to talk to you about, that I can’t talk with Sienna about.” He said. “I’m listening.” I assured him. “I’m in love…” He trailed off. My heart ached.
“I don’t know how to tell that girl that I love her… I mean she means so much to me, I don’t want her to misunderstand me.” He said. “How can you be sure that you love her?” I asked. “I know that in ten years, I want to wake up next to her.” He said.
My heart was aching so bad, I almost forgot how to breathe. “Did you try to simply tell her that you loved her?” I managed to say. “No.” He replied. “Then tell her that. I’m sure she’ll appreciate it.” I said. I started shivering. My eyes were teary.
Does that mean I have feeling for him? “Okay, I love you Farah.” He said. My tears started falling. What did he just say? Why am I crying? “Sheesh Farah, don’t cry.” He said. “Can you repeat what you just said?” I sniffed.
“Farah, don’t cry.” He said. “No, I mean before that.” I giggled. “I love you, Farah.” He said. I grinned. “Thank you. I feel the same way.” I said. “I wish I can hold you right now.” Waleed said.

Waleed

I really do love her. I’m very happy that she shares the same feeling. I want to see Farah. I haven’t seen her since the dance. So, I invited her to the talent show today. I wondered why she didn’t know about it.
We were on stage two hours before the talent show starts. I was helping them with the set up since Tariq was the only guy there. I was surprised to know how much Sarah was familiar with the stage set up and all.
“Sienna, may I speak with you for a minute?” I asked. “Sure, what’s up?” She said. We got off the stage and went somewhere quite. “I don’t know how to tell you this…” I said. “You can tell me anything Pete.” She replied.
“I’m in love with your friend Farah.” I said. She grinned. “That’s… Awesome! Did you tell her that yet?” she said. “Yes this leads me to the other subject…” I trailed off. “Which is?” she asked.
“Why aren’t you guys speaking?” I said. “What do you mean?” she asked. I sighed. “Farah didn’t know about the band till I told her, and you had no idea that I confused my love for her.” I explained.
She looked away. “Did you ask her that?” she chocked. I reached to hug her. She backed away. “Take good care of her.” She grinned and left me. I texted Farah:
‘Farah, what’s going on between you and Sienna? –Waleed’
‘What the hell did she say? –Farah’
‘Nothing… She asked me to take good care of you. –Waleed’
‘Then nothing is going on between us. –Farah’
‘Right… when are you coming to the talent show? –Waleed’
‘I’ll be there in two hours. –Farah’
‘Take care sweetie and see you then <3 –Waleed’
So I’ve waited to see her.

Sienna

We’re going up on stage next. My heartbeats racing, I’m going to live that dream for the next 5 minutes. Sarah was having a smoke and Aseel was sitting on her lap. Then I saw Aseel walking away.
“Sienna when I’m gone, take care of Aseel for me, alright?” Sarah said. “You’re not leaving her, are you?” I asked. “We don’t know what tomorrow might hold for us.” she shrugged. Then she looked at me, “Promise me that you’ll take care of her.”
I nodded. Aseel came back with a bottle of water in her hand. She handed Sarah the bottle. They’re good together. “Up next is Unspoken Words.” The presenter said. “’Gambatte Sie.’ Good luck Sie.” Sarah said.
My heart was beating so fast. I have no idea how to handle this. The crowed was pretty big, unlike the time I sang at the café. I’m on stage now. It’s so huge. “Hello, we’re Unspoken Words…” I said through the microphone.
We started playing right here by Staind:

I know I've been mistaken,
But just give me a break and see the changes that I've made.
I've got some imperfections,
But how can you collect them all and throw them in my face
[Chorus]
But you always find a way to keep me right here waiting
You always find the words to say to keep me right here waiting
And if you chose to walk away I'd still be right here waiting
Searching for the things to say to keep you right here waiting

I hope you're not intending
To be so condescending, it's as much as I can take.
And you're so independent, you just refuse to bend
So I keep bending 'till I break
[Chorus]
But you always find a way to keep me right here waiting
You always find the words to say to keep me right here waiting
And if you chose to walk away I'd still be right here waiting
Searching for the things to say to keep you right here waiting

I've made a commitment, I'm willing to bleed for you
I needed fulfillment
I found what I need in you

Why can't you just forgive me?
I don't want to relive all the mistakes I've made along the way...

But I always find a way to keep you right here waiting
waiting
I always find the words to say to keep you right here waiting

But you always find a way to keep me right here waiting
You always find the words to say to keep me right here waiting
And if I chose to walk away, would you be right here waiting
Searching for the things to say to keep me right here waiting

I could see her there with the audience.

Razan

When they called Unspoken Words, I thought it was another boy band though it was Sienna who was on stage. I was stunned. She was amazing. She was that knight of mine. She was all I’ve known her to be.
The song ended. “That song was dedicated to a special someone, I’m right here waiting…” Sienna said.  “This next song is called Believe by Staind.” She finished. After the end of the second song, I hugged Feras tight and my tears won’t stop falling.
“Hey princess, Let me take you home.” he said. I nodded. He dropped me off my place and told me that he’ll see me tomorrow. I should confront him tomorrow. Sienna can’t betray me like that.

Waleed

Two hours have passed. Unspoken Words are up next. No word from Farah yet. “Pete, you look troubled. What’s the matter?” Ron asked. “Farah is not here yet.” I said. I looked at my mobile and a message was there. It was Farah.
‘Look to your left. –Farah’
I turned left. There was this beautiful girl wearing a long sleeve mini dress. She waved at me. “You look Amazing.” I said when I stood closer to Farah. She blushed. “Thank you.” she said. I held her hand.
“Do you want to go somewhere else?” I asked. “It’s okay.” She said. We went outside. The night was so serene. “Farah, I don’t want to start on the wrong foot here.” I said. “What do you mean?” she got confused.
“I don’t believe the fact that nothing happened between the two of you.” I said. “And why is that?” She asked. “Because at the party, she sang that song for you and as I told you before that girl care about everyone but herself. So it’s pretty obvious.” I explain.
“Do you think dancing with her was an acceptable thing?” she asked. “You stopped talking because she danced with a guy? Or was it because that guy was me?” I asked. “It was a little bit of both.” She said.
“Boy, am I lucky.” I commented. She blushed.

Farah

My heart was beating so fast. Heat rushed through my body, I was burning still. “The dance was my fault forgive her for that… and I’m yours only now.” He whispered the last part. He was standing so close to me.
Still holding my hand, I felt his lips on my cheek. I let go of his hand and left the place.

Aseel

I can’t believe that we won the talent show. “You were amazing.” Sarah whispered in my ear. My face went red. She hugged me from behind. “You know what I love most about you?” she asked. I shook my head. “No.” I looked at her.
“All your reacting are the same as when we first met.” She explained. I looked confused. “In other words, I love the fact that I can still make you blush. Just like that.” She said. I giggled. “We should go home.” She said.
“Don’t you want to go to the after party?” I asked. “No, we have better things to do at home.” she said. “Better thing to do?” I asked. “Yeah like stripping and...” She was saying. “Better thing to do.” I interrupted her. Sarah nodded.
We were at my place. I showed Tariq my prize and made sure he was tucked in bed. Then, I went to my room with Sarah. I was about to turn on the lights. “Keep it this way.” She whispered. I left the lights off and locked the door.
She took of my shirt and started kissing me violently. “Sarz wait.” I said. Sarah was on top of me as I was lying in bed. “Okay?” She said. “What’s wrong?” I asked. “Nothing…”  She said and started kissing me down my neck.
I was losing myself slowly. “Seel, can you promise me something?” She asked. “Anything.” I answered. “When am gone, don’t look for me.” She said. “No, I’ll look for you.” I replied. “But I’m right here.” she pointed at my heart.
“So promise me you won’t look for me.” She said. “I promise. You’ll never leave my heart.” I said. “I want tonight to be the night you’ll never forget.” Sarah whispered.

Razan

There was a strange movement on my bed that led me to wake up. It was Feras jumping on my bed. He grinned. “Wakey Wakey Princess.” He said. I threw the pillow that was next to me on him. “Out.” I said.
He was wearing a long face as he left my room. I got out of bed and got dressed and then I went to the living room. “Who let you in?” I demanded. “You’re mom did.” He answered. “And who gave you permission to enter my room?” I asked.
He didn’t answer. “Whatever…” I said and went back to my room. I minutes later I heard knocking on my door. I didn’t answer. “Razanii, I’m sorry.” He said. I rolled my eyes. “I’m truly sorry Razz, I didn’t mean to upset you. I should’ve waited outside.” He said.
“Yes, you should’ve waited outside.” I said as I opened the door. It’s my chance I can ask him to tell me the truth now. “I should’ve.” He said and kissed my forehead. “Shall we go?” I asked. He nodded.
When we were outside next to his car before he opened the door for me, “Feras…” I said. “Yes princess?” he said. “I’m just asking for honesty.” I said. “What is it?” he said. “What did Sienna say when she called you?” I asked.
“She said that she wanted me.” He said. “You’re saying that Sienna said, ‘I want you’?” I asked. “Yes.” He replied. “Sienna would never say something like that.” I commented. How foolish was I to believe him?
“Wait Razan…” He began to say. “Don’t even try.” I said as I walked away.
