All You Need is One: Chapter Thirteen

There is no privacy that can’t be penetrated, no secret can be kept in a civilized world, Society is a masquerade ball where everybody hides his real character then revels it by hiding. -Ralph Waldo Emerson

Razan

I can’t understand her. Why is she still treating me like old times after all I did to her? I thought as I was walking down the hall. A girl hit me by mistake as she was running. I lost my balance I was about to fall on the floor.
She caught me. My books fell on the floor. “’Anata wa daijōbudesu ka? (JP)’ Are you okay?” She asked. I nodded. I had this urge to hug her then I remembered that things aren’t like they used to be.
The talk I had with Tariq came to mind. Why would someone who betrayed me still act that nice toward me? “Sienna, why are you helping me? After all what happened.” I demanded. "Because I’m your knight, remember?" She answered.
She picked up my books and gave them to me, and then she walked away. After school Feras picked me up. “Razanii, what do you have tomorrow?” He asked. “Nothing, are you taking me on a date?” I asked.
“Well, let’s just say that I got two tickets to attend a talent show!” He said as he showed me the tickets. “Awesome, who’s playing?” I asked. “A new band called unspoken words.” He explained. “I’m sure it will be great!” I said.

Sienna

“Sarah how many songs will we play tomorrow?” I asked. We were sitting in the studio. “We’ll play two songs.” Sarah answered. Aseel whispered something in Sarah’s ear. “Sienna, Ron says that Razan and Feras will be coming.” Sarah said.
I grinned. “That will make it easier to choose the songs.” I said. Tariq left the studio. “Now seriously Sie, are you in love with that girl?” Aseel asked. “Yeah, seriously just between us.” Sarah backed her up.
“No, I’m not.” I rolled my eyes. “I saw what you did today.” Aseel raised her eye brow. “Are you stalking me?” I demanded. Sarah looked at Aseel. “What did she do?” Sarah asked. “She was like a true knight she caught the princess before she fell on the floor.” Aseel answered.
“She didn’t.” Sarah was shocked. “Excuse me I’m right here.” I said. “Sie saved the day.” Aseel shrugged. “Wasn’t it hot?” Sarah asked. “It was I was almost turned on.” Aseel answered. I put my hand on both their mouths. “To your instruments…” I demanded.
Tariq entered the studio. We all looked at him. “I’m not even going to ask.” He said. Sarah and Aseel started laughing. “Sie, did you decide on the two songs?” Tariq asked. “Yeah, Believe and Right Here by Staind.” I said.
“I didn’t take you for the alternative type, Sie.” Tariq commented. “Isn’t it obvious Tariq?” Aseel began. “She’s doing it for Razan.” Sarah finished. Tariq laughed. I can’t remember, since when was it that easy to see right through me?
“Do you not like the songs?” I asked. They all looked at me. “I do like them.” Tariq answered. “Then we’re playing them.” I insisted. We practiced the songs all night, till they were perfected.

Farah

“Get your cloths we’re leaving.” Mom said. “Are we leaving him for good?” I asked. Mom nodded. “Why now?” I asked. “Farah Just get your cloths and help your siblings with theirs.” She shrugged.
We got our cloths and we were out of that house for good. When we got to granny’s place I had an incoming call. I picked it up. “Hey you.” He said. “Hey Pete.” I answered. “How are you doing sweetie?” he asked.
“I’m doing well, what about you?” I said. “I’m great, now that I heard your voice.” He said. I blushed and softly giggled. “What you doing?” he asked. “We’re moving to grandma’s place. Mom and Dad are splitting up.” I explained.
“Sorry to hear that.” He said. “Don’t be, it’s for the best.” I commented. “You really think so?” he asked. “I know so.” I replied. “Farah, we’re friends now right?” He asked. I don’t know why but when he called us friend it felt wrong.
“Sure.” I answered unwillingly. “There is something that I wanted to talk to you about, that I can’t talk with Sienna about.” He said. “I’m listening.” I assured him. “I’m in love…” He trailed off. My heart ached.
“I don’t know how to tell that girl that I love her… I mean she means so much to me, I don’t want her to misunderstand me.” He said. “How can you be sure that you love her?” I asked. “I know that in ten years, I want to wake up next to her.” He said.
My heart was aching so bad, I almost forgot how to breathe. “Did you try to simply tell her that you loved her?” I managed to say. “No.” He replied. “Then tell her that. I’m sure she’ll appreciate it.” I said. I started shivering. My eyes were teary.
Does that mean I have feeling for him? “Okay, I love you Farah.” He said. My tears started falling. What did he just say? Why am I crying? “Sheesh Farah, don’t cry.” He said. “Can you repeat what you just said?” I sniffed.
“Farah, don’t cry.” He said. “No, I mean before that.” I giggled. “I love you, Farah.” He said. I grinned. “Thank you. I feel the same way.” I said. “I wish I can hold you right now.” Waleed said.

Waleed

I really do love her. I’m very happy that she shares the same feeling. I want to see Farah. I haven’t seen her since the dance. So, I invited her to the talent show today. I wondered why she didn’t know about it.
We were on stage two hours before the talent show starts. I was helping them with the set up since Tariq was the only guy there. I was surprised to know how much Sarah was familiar with the stage set up and all.
“Sienna, may I speak with you for a minute?” I asked. “Sure, what’s up?” She said. We got off the stage and went somewhere quite. “I don’t know how to tell you this…” I said. “You can tell me anything Pete.” She replied.
“I’m in love with your friend Farah.” I said. She grinned. “That’s… Awesome! Did you tell her that yet?” she said. “Yes this leads me to the other subject…” I trailed off. “Which is?” she asked.
“Why aren’t you guys speaking?” I said. “What do you mean?” she asked. I sighed. “Farah didn’t know about the band till I told her, and you had no idea that I confused my love for her.” I explained.
She looked away. “Did you ask her that?” she chocked. I reached to hug her. She backed away. “Take good care of her.” She grinned and left me. I texted Farah:
‘Farah, what’s going on between you and Sienna? –Waleed’
‘What the hell did she say? –Farah’
‘Nothing… She asked me to take good care of you. –Waleed’
‘Then nothing is going on between us. –Farah’
‘Right… when are you coming to the talent show? –Waleed’
‘I’ll be there in two hours. –Farah’
‘Take care sweetie and see you then <3 –Waleed’
So I’ve waited to see her.

Sienna

We’re going up on stage next. My heartbeats racing, I’m going to live that dream for the next 5 minutes. Sarah was having a smoke and Aseel was sitting on her lap. Then I saw Aseel walking away.
“Sienna when I’m gone, take care of Aseel for me, alright?” Sarah said. “You’re not leaving her, are you?” I asked. “We don’t know what tomorrow might hold for us.” she shrugged. Then she looked at me, “Promise me that you’ll take care of her.”
I nodded. Aseel came back with a bottle of water in her hand. She handed Sarah the bottle. They’re good together. “Up next is Unspoken Words.” The presenter said. “’Gambatte Sie.’ Good luck Sie.” Sarah said.
My heart was beating so fast. I have no idea how to handle this. The crowed was pretty big, unlike the time I sang at the café. I’m on stage now. It’s so huge. “Hello, we’re Unspoken Words…” I said through the microphone.
We started playing right here by Staind:

I know I've been mistaken,
But just give me a break and see the changes that I've made.
I've got some imperfections,
But how can you collect them all and throw them in my face
[Chorus]
But you always find a way to keep me right here waiting
You always find the words to say to keep me right here waiting
And if you chose to walk away I'd still be right here waiting
Searching for the things to say to keep you right here waiting

I hope you're not intending
To be so condescending, it's as much as I can take.
And you're so independent, you just refuse to bend
So I keep bending 'till I break
[Chorus]
But you always find a way to keep me right here waiting
You always find the words to say to keep me right here waiting
And if you chose to walk away I'd still be right here waiting
Searching for the things to say to keep you right here waiting

I've made a commitment, I'm willing to bleed for you
I needed fulfillment
I found what I need in you

Why can't you just forgive me?
I don't want to relive all the mistakes I've made along the way...

But I always find a way to keep you right here waiting
waiting
I always find the words to say to keep you right here waiting

But you always find a way to keep me right here waiting
You always find the words to say to keep me right here waiting
And if I chose to walk away, would you be right here waiting
Searching for the things to say to keep me right here waiting

I could see her there with the audience.

Razan

When they called Unspoken Words, I thought it was another boy band though it was Sienna who was on stage. I was stunned. She was amazing. She was that knight of mine. She was all I’ve known her to be.
The song ended. “That song was dedicated to a special someone, I’m right here waiting…” Sienna said.  “This next song is called Believe by Staind.” She finished. After the end of the second song, I hugged Feras tight and my tears won’t stop falling.
“Hey princess, Let me take you home.” he said. I nodded. He dropped me off my place and told me that he’ll see me tomorrow. I should confront him tomorrow. Sienna can’t betray me like that.

Waleed

Two hours have passed. Unspoken Words are up next. No word from Farah yet. “Pete, you look troubled. What’s the matter?” Ron asked. “Farah is not here yet.” I said. I looked at my mobile and a message was there. It was Farah.
‘Look to your left. –Farah’
I turned left. There was this beautiful girl wearing a long sleeve mini dress. She waved at me. “You look Amazing.” I said when I stood closer to Farah. She blushed. “Thank you.” she said. I held her hand.
“Do you want to go somewhere else?” I asked. “It’s okay.” She said. We went outside. The night was so serene. “Farah, I don’t want to start on the wrong foot here.” I said. “What do you mean?” she got confused.
“I don’t believe the fact that nothing happened between the two of you.” I said. “And why is that?” She asked. “Because at the party, she sang that song for you and as I told you before that girl care about everyone but herself. So it’s pretty obvious.” I explain.
“Do you think dancing with her was an acceptable thing?” she asked. “You stopped talking because she danced with a guy? Or was it because that guy was me?” I asked. “It was a little bit of both.” She said.
“Boy, am I lucky.” I commented. She blushed.

Farah

My heart was beating so fast. Heat rushed through my body, I was burning still. “The dance was my fault forgive her for that… and I’m yours only now.” He whispered the last part. He was standing so close to me.
Still holding my hand, I felt his lips on my cheek. I let go of his hand and left the place.

Aseel

I can’t believe that we won the talent show. “You were amazing.” Sarah whispered in my ear. My face went red. She hugged me from behind. “You know what I love most about you?” she asked. I shook my head. “No.” I looked at her.
“All your reacting are the same as when we first met.” She explained. I looked confused. “In other words, I love the fact that I can still make you blush. Just like that.” She said. I giggled. “We should go home.” She said.
“Don’t you want to go to the after party?” I asked. “No, we have better things to do at home.” she said. “Better thing to do?” I asked. “Yeah like stripping and...” She was saying. “Better thing to do.” I interrupted her. Sarah nodded.
We were at my place. I showed Tariq my prize and made sure he was tucked in bed. Then, I went to my room with Sarah. I was about to turn on the lights. “Keep it this way.” She whispered. I left the lights off and locked the door.
She took of my shirt and started kissing me violently. “Sarz wait.” I said. Sarah was on top of me as I was lying in bed. “Okay?” She said. “What’s wrong?” I asked. “Nothing…”  She said and started kissing me down my neck.
I was losing myself slowly. “Seel, can you promise me something?” She asked. “Anything.” I answered. “When am gone, don’t look for me.” She said. “No, I’ll look for you.” I replied. “But I’m right here.” she pointed at my heart.
“So promise me you won’t look for me.” She said. “I promise. You’ll never leave my heart.” I said. “I want tonight to be the night you’ll never forget.” Sarah whispered.

Razan

There was a strange movement on my bed that led me to wake up. It was Feras jumping on my bed. He grinned. “Wakey Wakey Princess.” He said. I threw the pillow that was next to me on him. “Out.” I said.
He was wearing a long face as he left my room. I got out of bed and got dressed and then I went to the living room. “Who let you in?” I demanded. “You’re mom did.” He answered. “And who gave you permission to enter my room?” I asked.
He didn’t answer. “Whatever…” I said and went back to my room. I minutes later I heard knocking on my door. I didn’t answer. “Razanii, I’m sorry.” He said. I rolled my eyes. “I’m truly sorry Razz, I didn’t mean to upset you. I should’ve waited outside.” He said.
“Yes, you should’ve waited outside.” I said as I opened the door. It’s my chance I can ask him to tell me the truth now. “I should’ve.” He said and kissed my forehead. “Shall we go?” I asked. He nodded.
When we were outside next to his car before he opened the door for me, “Feras…” I said. “Yes princess?” he said. “I’m just asking for honesty.” I said. “What is it?” he said. “What did Sienna say when she called you?” I asked.
“She said that she wanted me.” He said. “You’re saying that Sienna said, ‘I want you’?” I asked. “Yes.” He replied. “Sienna would never say something like that.” I commented. How foolish was I to believe him?
“Wait Razan…” He began to say. “Don’t even try.” I said as I walked away.
